Sunny Days Oil

Looking for something natural for mild sun protection? This gentle oil has an spf of 7, so it’s perfect for sun exposure in mild climates or during cooler months. It’s also great after sun exposure as the herbs and oils are packed with soothing anti-inflammatory benefits which help protect the skin from oxidative damage and heal minor sun damage from routine exposure. For warmer climates, we recommend a higher spf protection, preferably one with established scientific testing for optimal safety with the use of this oil as a post-sun exposure treatment. In addition to the topical benefits, the calming lavender makes a great end-of-the-day treat.

  • 1/2 ounce calendula
  • 1/2 ounce chamomile
  • 1 cup coconut oil
  • 80 drops lavender EO

Preheat an oven to 300 degrees. Place the coconut oil in an oven proof dish with the dried herbs. The oil may not fully cover the herbs, which is fine. Place the mixture into the oven, then turn it off. Stir the mixture after the oil melts to ensure that each of the herbs are fully coated. Infuse for 20 minutes. Remove from heat. Let it cool just enough to handle. Strain the herbs from the oil. This leaves you with about 1/2 to 2/3 cups of oil. Add the lavender EO and place in a sterile glass bottle which has been properly labeled with the ingredients and optimal usage.
